Gene Self, Transitional Pastor

 

   
Rev. 'Gene' Self was born and raised in Miami and married Gay F. Munsell. He is graduate of the New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary, School of Christian Training. In his years of ministry he has pastored three SBC Churches; Graham Baptist Church of Hialeah, Fl., the Tamiami Baptist Church of Miami, and the Faith Baptist Church of Tallahassee. He also served as Chaplain/Crisis Counselor with the City of Miami Police department.

Bro. Gene was trained for the Transitional Pastorate in September, 2007 prior to retiring from Faith Baptist Church of Tallahassee. He feels the role of a Transitional Pastor to be his present calling, has previously served the First Baptist Church of Lake Alfred, and has provided pulpit supply to various churches when needed.

Favorite Scripture: Jeremiah 29:11 & 1Cor 2:9-16

Favorite reading: All Scripture, Chuck Colson, Charles Swindoll, Henry Blackaby, and Andrew Murray

Hobbies: Weight lifting, anything in the garage, family time, most sports, and the Miami Dolphins. Bro Gene and Mrs. Self always enjoy dinner with friends.
